What is a Crappie?
A Crappie (pomoxis annularis & pomoxis nigromaculatus) is a species of fish native to North America. There are two types of species of crappie, white crappie (pomoxis annularis) and black crappie (pomoxis nigromaculatus). Here in Florida we call them Specs, Short for Speckled Perch.
